Privacy Policy

Your full drive history stays on your iPhone. This policy explains the limited data used when you choose account, social, map, notification, and subscription features.

Last updated: September 8, 2026

1. Overview

MileLore is a privacy-first drive tracking application developed and operated by ViberzLab LLC. This policy applies to the MileLore iOS app and its associated services. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use your route history for advertising.

2. Data that stays on your device

Your complete GPS routes and drive history are stored locally on your iPhone, including location points, timestamps, speed samples, distance, duration, detected driving moments, notes, and locally calculated insights such as Driver DNA and drive statistics. We do not upload complete route histories to our servers.

You can review and delete drives in the app and export or import a local drive backup. A drive backup contains drive data; it does not include your sign-in session, push tokens, or device identifiers. Removing the app may remove local data unless you have separately exported a backup.

3. Location and motion permissions

Location

With your permission, MileLore uses precise foreground and background location to detect and record drives automatically, calculate route-based statistics, display your position and routes on maps, and power Live Activities. Background access enables automatic tracking when the app is not open. You can change permission access in iOS Settings, although some features will then stop working.

Motion activity

With your permission, Apple motion activity signals help distinguish driving from walking and reduce false automatic drives. Motion signals are used on the device for drive detection and are not sold or used for advertising.

4. Optional account and social data

You can use core local drive tracking without creating a social account. If you sign in or use social features, we process the following limited data:

  • Your authentication identifier and information made available by Sign in with Apple or Google, which may include your email address and name.
  • Your driver tag (username), selected 3D vehicle model, unit preference, and social, privacy, and notification settings.
  • Friend requests, accepted connections, blocks, and the audience you select for live sharing.
  • Completed-drive summaries used for leaderboards, such as distance, duration, and peak-speed statistics. These summaries do not contain your route or location.
  • Push notification tokens and Live Activity tokens needed to deliver enabled notifications and begin or update Live Activities where supported.

Your driver tag and selected vehicle may be visible to people who find you, your friends, and—only if you opt into the public leaderboard—other leaderboard users.

5. Live location sharing

Live sharing is optional. When you enable it for an active drive, your current coordinates, current speed, update time, driver tag, and selected vehicle may be sent securely to Supabase and shown only to accepted friends allowed by your audience setting. Allowed friends may receive a notification when that live drive begins.

The current live-location record is updated while sharing and removed when live sharing ends. We retain the date and time you most recently shared a drive so eligible friends can see a “last seen” status; that history record contains no coordinates. Ghost Mode hides your active location. Live sharing is not an emergency, safety, or guaranteed real-time location service.

6. Maps and place search

MileLore uses map and place services to display maps, search for destinations, obtain directions, match a displayed route to roads, and render 3D flyovers. Depending on the feature, requests may include coordinates, a route segment, place-search text, an approximate location bias, IP address, and technical request data. These providers process that information under their own privacy policies. Sending a segment for road matching does not change our rule that MileLore does not store your complete route history on our servers.

7. Third-party services

Supabase provides authentication, the optional social database, and server functions. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.

Apple and Google provide sign-in, maps or place services, notifications, the App Store, and payment processing as applicable. See Apple's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.

Mapbox provides map tiles, road matching, and 3D map experiences. See Mapbox's Privacy Policy.

RevenueCat manages subscription status and purchase entitlements using an app user identifier and purchase information supplied by Apple. We do not receive your payment-card details. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Expo supports delivery of push notifications. Expo and Apple Push Notification service may process a push token, notification content, IP address, and technical delivery data. See Expo's Privacy Policy.

8. How we use and disclose data

We use data only as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide drive tracking, maps, statistics, replays, and Live Activities;
  • operate accounts, friendships, sharing, notifications, and leaderboards;
  • manage purchases, prevent abuse, secure the service, and meet legal duties;
  • respond to support requests and maintain the app.

We disclose data to the providers listed above, to the friends or leaderboard audience you choose, when required by law, or in connection with a business reorganization subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell or rent personal data, use route history for targeted advertising, or share full routes with social users.

9. Retention and deletion

Local drive data remains on your device until you delete it, replace it through an import, or remove the app. Account and social records are retained while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and comply with law. Current live coordinates are removed when sharing ends; the coordinate-free last-shared timestamp remains with the account.

You can permanently delete your social account from Profile. Account deletion removes the associated profile, friendships, sharing records, leaderboard summaries, notification records, and service tokens from our database, subject to limited backups or records we must retain by law. Deleting the social account does not automatically delete drive data stored locally on your iPhone.

10. Your controls and rights

  • Change location, motion, and notification permissions in iOS Settings.
  • Choose whether to share live, use Ghost Mode, and select the sharing audience.
  • Control social notifications and public-leaderboard visibility in the app.
  • Delete individual or multiple local drives, or export your local drive data.
  • Edit your driver tag, block drivers, remove friends, or delete your account.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal data we hold. Contact us to exercise a right. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

11. Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including authenticated access controls and encrypted network transport. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Our providers may process data in countries other than your own, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.

12. Children

MileLore is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app or law changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. Where required, we will provide additional notice.
